PLAY IDEA OF THE DAY
Pretend post office
SUITABLE FOR AGES 2+
Decide who is to be the customer or the post office clerk. The customer should pretend to write out a letter and place it in an envelope. The clerk can then pretend to weigh the letter and ask their customer to buy a stamp for postage. They can then pass the stamp (maybe an old one that you've cut off an letter) to the child and ask them to put it on the letter before they put it in the Post Box (an empty box with a cut out for the letter will do). The post office clerk should then ask the customer if they can interest them in any other items such as magazines or cards. Swap over roles and play again.
REQUIRES 1 OR 2 PLAYERS
TIME NEEDED: 60+ MINS

WELCOME TO MAKE TIME 2 PLAY
We all know how important play is to a child’s development. Our mission is to help you with ideas and inspiration to get your children playing. Our maketime2play facebook page, app and website are updated regularly with play activities for kids that encourage imaginative and exploratory play. We want to enable you to use toys and playtime to build your child’s self-esteem, their sense of wonder and to help them understand the world around them. Every time you make time to play with your children you are encouraging them to grow up happy and healthy. That’s enough talking – let’s get playing.
