Decide who is to be the customer or the post office clerk. The customer should pretend to write out a letter and place it in an envelope. The clerk can then pretend to weigh the letter and ask their customer to buy a stamp for postage. They can then pass the stamp (maybe an old one that you’ve cut off an letter) to the child and ask them to put it on the letter before they put it in the Post Box (an empty box with a cut out for the letter will do). The post office clerk should then ask the customer if they can interest them in any other items such as magazines or cards. Swap over roles and play again.
