Firstly you must set out and find some beautiful flowers – try to look out for flowers that have bloomed! Then you need to dry them. You need to remove any unwanted leaves and divide the flowers into bunches. You can then either hang them to dry in a cool, dark place or put them in-between the pages of a heavy book between tissue paper! The drying process can take 2 weeks, but you can check the flowers progress every few days; you will know when they are ready when they are dry to the touch. Now you can start pressing your flowers! You will need some newspaper, tissue paper, a heavy book and a large brick or rock. On top of the piece of cardboard, place your newspaper and then your tissue paper (all these should be the same size of your book). Then place the flowers on the tissue paper ensuring that none of them touch each other or hang off the edge. Then cover these flowers with some more tissue paper, then newspaper and then cardboard. You continue this process until all of your flowers are prepared! Once this is complete, top the pile off with a heavy book and brick or stone. In 2-4 weeks you will have some beautiful pressed flowers!
