Increase Creativity Allowing a child to be creative will encourage them to express themself, become confident and find their own sense of identity. It also gives them a chance to have something to show for their efforts which can raise their self-esteem and improve their confidence!

Creative play takes something old or recognised and encourages a child to turn it into something new. It is therefore important to keep giving them different things to play with or environments to play in to keep their creative juices flowing!

What do we mean?

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Writing stories/poems
  • Modelling (clay, modelling clay, sand)
  • Making castles/dens from sheets and cardboard boxes
  • Making puppets
  • Face painting
  • Mud pies

This also helps you to get to know the child better - to see the world through their eyes. It is also a way of having a lot of fun that can involve the whole family - no matter what their age!
